Former President Donald Trump has removed a controversial social media video referencing a “Unified Reich,” reminiscent of Nazi Germany, after it sparked outrage online.
The now-deleted video depicted hypothetical news headlines announcing Trump’s victory in the 2024 election, with one headline reading “What’s next for America?” Beneath it, the phrase “INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED DRIVEN BY THE CREATION OF A UNIFIED REICH” appeared, drawing immediate condemnation.
The White House swiftly condemned the video, labeling it “dangerous and offensive,” with Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates denouncing any association with Germany’s Nazi regime as “abhorrent” and “sickening.”
While not directly naming Trump due to Hatch Act restrictions, the Biden campaign was unequivocal in its condemnation, accusing Trump of revealing his intention to govern as a dictator over a “unified reich.”
Trump, for his part, claimed the video was not part of his campaign’s official content, attributing its creation to a “random account online” and suggesting a junior staffer inadvertently reposted it while he was preoccupied in court.
This incident adds to a history of Trump’s controversial rhetoric, including previous comparisons to a “Gestapo administration” under Biden and inflammatory remarks regarding immigrants and political opponents, drawing parallels to language used by Adolf Hitler.
See ABC News’ coverage of the video below.
Donald Trump is openly copying Hitler’s Nazi language about a “unified reich” and warning about “poisoning the blood” of America, and people are still acting like this is a normal election.
