Kari Lake supporters have called for military intervention amid fears that the former Fox News host turned Donald Trump ally may be losing her gubernatorial bid against Democrat Katie Hobbs, who has extended her lead to 26,979 votes.
As more votes are being counted, Lake is trying to sow doubt about the race, which remains too close to call.
Hobbs is leading Lake 50.7 percent to 49.3 percent – with 88 percent of votes now reported. But we will have to wait until next week to learn the result of the race.
Lake is among this election’s most prominent “election deniers” and has repeatedly refused to say whether she would honor the results of her election – if she lost.
“I’m going to win the election and accept that result,” Kari Lake said twice on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Public interest groups said Trump and his denier acolytes are threats to democracy, sowing distrust in the system because they know they cannot command a majority of voters.
