Former Gov. Sarah Paling suffered a second court defeat in a row after jurors unanimously found that she failed to prove her defamation case against the New York Times, sending her back home empty-handed.
The jury of nine, which had been deliberating since Friday afternoon, found the Times not liable for defamation against Palin.
The development comes a day after Judge Jed Rakoff ruled that Palin’s attorneys did not prove their case and that he would set dismiss the lawsuit.
“After the jury delivered its unanimous verdict Tuesday, Judge Rakoff briefly told jurors about his decision to dismiss the case and said he and the jurors both came to the same decision,” CNN reports.
Palin’s attorney Kenneth spoke to the media outside of a lower Manhattan courthouse, saying he’s proud of his client and that he and his team are “going to evaluate all our options for appeal.”
Palin did not address reporters when she left the courthouse, the network reported.
