President Donald Trump on Thursday warned protesters not to show up outside his Tulsa, Oklahoma, rally planned for Saturday, and suggested they would be met with violence.
“Any protesters, anarchists, agitators, looters or lowlifes who are going to Oklahoma please understand, you will not be treated like you have been in New York, Seattle, or Minneapolis,” Trump tweeted. “It will be a much different scene!”
The president’s threatening tweet comes as nationwide demonstrations continue against police brutality.
Trump is holding a rally despite warnings from health experts that it is likely to worsen an already troubling spike in coronavirus infections and could become a disastrous “super spreader.”
They are pleading with the Trump campaign to cancel the event, slated for a 20,000-person indoor arena — or at least move it outdoors.
