A startling video has emerged showcasing a conservative leader discussing extreme measures regarding abortion, including advocating for the execution of rape victims seeking abortions.
During a True Texas Project event in Granbury, Paul Brown, Director of Policy and Operations for the fringe group “Abolish Abortion Texas,” delivered a speech that shook many viewers. Brown declared a stance aligning with “an eye for an eye” justice, arguing that women who undergo abortions should face capital punishment under what he referred to as “God’s law.” He asserted that abortion constitutes murder from the moment of fertilization, condemning even procedures like the Plan B pill as forms of abortion, along with practices such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) that result in the destruction of fertilized eggs.
In the video, Brown proudly states the organization’s explicitly Christian nature and mentions the support garnered from numerous candidates for the cause of “abortion abolition.” This radical agenda encompasses not only the banning of IVF and certain contraceptives but also the enforcement of the death penalty for women who undergo abortions as well as for medical professionals who perform them.
Among the alarming statements made was Brown’s assertion that their organization would never endorse abortions even in cases of incest or rape. This means that under their proposed legislation, victims of rape who choose abortion could potentially face capital punishment.
Adding to the disturbing narrative, a woman identified as Kim Irwin, affiliated with the “Brazos Pregnancy Center” in Granbury, interjected during the event with unsubstantiated claims about the psychological effects of carrying a child conceived through rape. Irwin’s center, known for providing misleading information to vulnerable individuals, operates Granbury’s sole sex education program in the local school district. She further insinuated that women were fabricating miscarriages to conceal abortions, revealing a troubling disregard for factual information in her role as a provider of sexual health education.
The implications of the statements made in this video are deeply troubling, highlighting the extremist views held by some within conservative circles regarding reproductive rights and the lengths to which they are willing to go in pursuit of their agenda.
