Elon Musk is known to have at least 14 children—but that number might be just the beginning. According to Atlantic journalist Elizabeth Bruenig, Musk could be the father of more than 100 kids.
“I believe he has 14 known children, but people who spoke to the Wall Street Journal for their exposé on his childbearing habits suggested the number is much higher,” Bruenig said on The Sanity Podcast. “I have heard people estimate [it] at 100 or more.” Bruenig, who wrote the article The Harem of Elon Musk, added, “That would surprise me, but it’s definitely higher than 14.”
So why haven’t we heard about all these kids? Co-host Alisyn Camerota said it’s because Musk keeps tight control over information. “He makes his baby mamas sign NDAs and he’s very lawyered up and he’s litigious and he does suit them if they speak.”
Camerota also said Musk pays big money to keep people quiet. She mentioned a report that conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair was paid $15 million and given $100,000 a month to stay silent about their baby. Bruenig confirmed that St. Clair is possibly one of five women who’ve had children with Musk.
The podcast also touched on the contradiction between Musk’s actions and what some politicians call “family values.” Camerota said, “There’s something very dystopian… and hypocritical, wildly hypocritically, because let’s remember that it’s Republicans who have always championed family values.” She added, “He doesn’t acknowledge some of his children. And he refuses to be on the birth certificate… He pays off the women. He attacks them in court… he’s estranged from one of his children, Vivian.”
Bruenig explained that Musk isn’t looking for a traditional family. She said he’s motivated by a belief that low birth rates threaten the future of civilization. According to Bruenig, Musk “really wants smart people to be having children.”
Musk’s known children include twins and triplets with ex-wife Justine Wilson, three kids with singer Grimes, four kids with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, and a son with St. Clair, named Romulus. St. Clair has said Musk has had little involvement with their child.
So while 14 is the official count, the real number may be far higher—and we might never know just how many Musk children are out there.
