Donald Trump released a video on Twitter after his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol demanding lawmakers overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
In the video, Trump claimed that the election was stolen from him and that he understands his supporters for being angry. He didn’t condemn them for storming the capitol and causing havoc. Instead he called his supporters “special.”
Ultimately, Trump told his supporters to go home and be “peaceful.”
But it was also Trump who had been encouraging his supporters for the past two months to storm Washington D.C. on January 6.
