Stephen Miller, a staunch anti-immigration advocate and top adviser to Donald Trump, didn’t find humor in the joke made about the president on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live.

Miller, who served as Trump’s White House deputy chief of staff for policy, ripped into the NBC show, calling it the “church of woke.” This was in response to a joke made during the Weekend Update segment by anchor Michael Che. Che mocked Trump’s claim that “no president has changed government faster,” quipping: “Yeah, and nobody changed airport security faster than bin Laden.”

Appearing on Fox News, Miller didn’t hold back:

“Saturday Night Live hasn’t been culturally relevant in 20 years. It hasn’t produced meaningful talent since the ‘90s. SNL is where comedy goes to die. The only good thing that’s happened on SNL in the last couple of decades was the times President Trump hosted.”

“We all wish we could go back to the Saturday Night Live we grew up with. But unfortunately, because it’s gone woke, left, and politically correct, SNL has become the opposite of comedy,” he ranted.

Then, in typical Miller fashion, he ended with a harsh challenge: “Unless they decide to be fearless, bold, and brave—actually mock and challenge the radical left and the church of woke—SNL will never be funny again.”

The SNL cold open also poked fun at Trump, as well as a recent report from The New York Times about a clash between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and billionaire Elon Musk. Musk, whom Trump appointed to overhaul public spending and jobs, was involved in a confrontation over the so-called Department of Government Efficiency.
