Donald Trump is once again going after CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, and this time he appears to be furious over a panel discussion on her show about his administration.
Trump launched the personal attack Tuesday night on Truth Social, calling Collins a “very dumb and unhappy” reporter and taking aim at both her journalism and CNN’s ratings.
“Very dumb and unhappy Fake News CNN ‘reporter,’ Kaitlan Collins (really low ratings, also!), had a panel where discussions were all FICTION AND LIES,” Trump wrote.
He then turned his fire toward CNN, claiming the network was “suffering terribly” in the ratings and suggesting it should get rid of its “3rd rate” anchors.
“It is fading FAST!” Trump declared.
Trump did not identify which specific comments on Collins’ program had prompted his anger.
The panel aired Monday on The Source and included Republican strategist Doug Heye, New York Times reporter Shawn McCreesh, NOTUS correspondent Jasmine Wright and former Harris administration official Ashley Etienne. The discussion touched on the economy, Trump’s record and the approaching midterm elections.
But instead of challenging the panel’s arguments point by point, Trump went after the journalist hosting the discussion.
That makes this latest broadside part of a familiar pattern. Trump has repeatedly targeted Collins personally, previously calling her “stupid” and “nasty” and criticizing her appearance and demeanor.
Collins has not publicly responded to Trump’s latest attack.
And Trump had one more thing to plug before ending the post: the Republican Party’s first-ever midterm convention in Dallas, where he is scheduled to speak on both Wednesday and Thursday.
