Actor Robert De Niro is sounding the alarm as he escalated the discourse surrounding former President Donald Trump’s political legacy, drawing a stark comparison between him and history’s most notorious dictators, Hitler and Mussolini.

Expressing deep concern over what he perceives as a dangerous lack of seriousness among voters, the acclaimed actor issued a dire warning during a Tuesday appearance on “The View.”

“I don’t understand why people are not taking him seriously,” the “Ezra” actor said of Trump. “Because you read about it historically in other countries that they didn’t take the people seriously — Hitler and Mussolini, they’re fools and clowns.”

In a passionate plea, De Niro urged the public not to underestimate Trump’s intentions, citing alarming parallels with past authoritarian regimes. He emphasized that Trump’s rhetoric and actions demand immediate attention and action, stressing that his presidency has already set a troubling precedent.

“Who does not think that this guy is going to do exactly what he says he’s going to do?” he asked of the 45th president. “He’s done it already.”
“And then what? We’re gonna sit around and say, what, ‘We told you so?’”

“It’s gonna happen. If he gets elected, it’s going to change this country for everybody,” De Niro warned.

“Those people who support him with anger and hate — because that’s what he’s about — they’re going to see,” he said.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg responded by underscoring the potential ramifications of Trump’s return to power, asserting that his insatiable thirst for control could irreversibly alter the fabric of American democracy.

“If he becomes president again, he is not going to not stop being president,” Goldberg said. “You understand this? His idea is to stay in until he drops dead.”

“That’s it,” De Niro agreed.
