Marjorie Taylor Greene has clapped back at Rep. Jasmine Crockett following their heated showdown in the House Oversight Committee on Thursday, which triggered a flood of memes and even merchandise.
Greene shared a video of herself pumping iron in a garage, defending her physique against the Texas Democrat’s viral “bleach blonde bad built butch body” remark during the committee hearing. But her post elicited an unexpected response from social media users
“Yes my body is built and strong NOT with nips, tucks, plastic, or silicone, but through a healthy lifestyle. Soon turning 50 years old, God willing, I will continue to lift, run, swim, play sports, surf, ski, climb and LIVE this life to the fullest and enjoy every single moment!” the Greene wrote.
Despite the controversy, Greene’s attempt to redirect the narrative with a workout video faced criticism online, with podcast host Fred Wellman highlighting the irrelevance of physical appearance compared to the toxicity of her rhetoric.
“Remember when you started it? We do. Nice try. Here is the thing…it doesn’t matter how much you work out and how much you lie…it’s the hate you spew that makes you ugly not your looks,” Wellman wrote.
But her post swiftly shifted focus to discussions about her age, with social media users astounded by her apparent older appearance despite nearing 50.
“You look like you are well into your 60s,” wrote user @DarkTraciJaye65.
Another user asked: “You’re not 50 yet?”
“Damn, you will be 50 years old? You need to use more moisturizer.” replied another.
