Over the weekend, President Donald Trump unleashed a series of posts on his Truth Social account, spreading conspiracy theories and suggesting that former President Barack Obama should face a military tribunal.
On Sunday, Trump reshared a post from the user @SpiritualStreetfighter, which featured a photo of Trump with Obama in the Oval Office after the 2016 election. The post was captioned: “ALL ROADS LEAD TO OBAMA… RETRUTH IF YOU WANT PUBLIC MILITARY TRIBUNALS.”
Trump didn’t comment on the post but did share it, endorsing the idea that Obama should face a military trial.
In addition to that post, Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself wrapped in the American flag, with the caption: “WE ARE TAKING BACK OUR GREAT COUNTRY.”
Trump also fueled attacks on former FBI Director James Comey. One reshared post criticized Comey over a mysterious Instagram post with the numbers “86 47,” asking: “Why haven’t they raided his house in the middle of the night and arrested him?”
Trump continued his criticism, amplifying a comment that read: “Ed Martin indicated that if Comey doesn’t go for jail for making the death threat (which he arranged, photographed, and disseminated) that they are looking to get him for lying to the federal agents about not knowing what he was posting. Comey knew very well what he was orchestrating and posting. He didn’t post a blank picture. He just thought he could continue to get away with his crimes and lies.”
He also shared another post that said:
“He knew what he was doing!
He placed the seashells!
He posted it on Instagram!
He did it deliberately!
Don’t believe anything else!!!”
On Saturday, Trump shared a video promoting the “Clinton body count” conspiracy theory, a long-running and unproven claim linking the Clintons to numerous deaths.
Trump also reshared an AI-generated image of himself wielding a katana in a Matrix-themed photo, with the caption: “SLAYER OF THE DEEP STATE.”
