President Donald Trump went after CBS on Sunday night, slamming the network’s “60 Minutes” program and demanding it be stripped of its license for airing what he called false and damaging stories about him.

“I just finished watching 60 Minutes, the FAKE News Show that was scandalously responsible for REMOVING a terrible and incompetently delivered answer, by failed Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris, to an interview on 60 Minutes, just prior to Election Day,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Now tonight, with two separate but highly inaccurate stories about ‘TRUMP,’ they’re at it again. The people at CBS Fake News just don’t get it!”

Trump then doubled down:
“Almost every week, 60 Minutes… mentions the name ‘TRUMP’ in a derogatory and defamatory way, but this Weekend’s ‘BROADCAST’ tops them all.”

He was reacting to two reports aired Sunday night — one on Ukraine and another on Greenland — both of which featured criticism of Trump by foreign leaders. Trump called both stories “inaccurate” and “fraudulent.”

“They did not one, but TWO, major stories on ‘TRUMP,’ one having to do with Ukraine, which I say is a War that would never have happened if the 2020 Election had not been RIGGED… the other story was having to do with Greenland, casting our Country, as led by me, falsely, inaccurately, and fraudulently,” Trump wrote.

In the Ukraine segment, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told “60 Minutes” that Trump doesn’t fully understand the war and invited him to visit:
“We want you to come, and I think to come and to see… before any kind of decisions… come to see people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead,” Zelensky said.

In the Greenland segment, elder Inuit statesman Aqqaluk Lynge criticized Trump for treating the region like property to be bought.

“When he mentioned — Greenland, like it was a toy or — or something,” Lynge said.

“We all noticed that in Greenland, all of us. And it was ugly.”

Trump responded by demanding government action.

“They should lose their license! Hopefully, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as headed by its Highly Respected Chairman, Brendan Carr, will impose the maximum fines and punishment… CBS is out of control, at levels never seen before, and they should pay a big price for this. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

This isn’t the first time Trump has targeted CBS. In October, he sued the network over its interview with Kamala Harris during the 2024 campaign. He claimed CBS doctored the footage to make her “look coherent.” Paramount, CBS’s parent company, fired back, calling the lawsuit an attack on the First Amendment and saying Trump had no case.

Now, both sides are headed for mediation in the $20 billion lawsuit. Whether the FCC takes action on Trump’s latest demands remains to be seen.
