President Donald Trump is demanding that Democrats who try to impeach him be expelled from Congress, slamming their efforts as baseless and politically motivated.
On Thursday night, Trump lashed out on Truth Social after two House Democrats — Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) and Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) — pushed a new impeachment resolution against him.
“The Democrats are really out of control. They have lost everything, especially their minds! These Radical Left Lunatics are into the ‘Impeachment thing’ again,” Trump wrote.
He ripped into the two lawmakers behind the new articles of impeachment, calling them “No Name,” “little respected Congressmen,” and “total Whackjobs.”
“They have already got two ‘No Name,’ little respected Congressmen, total Whackjobs both, throwing the ‘Impeachment’ of DONALD J. TRUMP around, for about the 20th time, even though they have no idea for what I would be Impeached.”
Trump argued the real wrongdoing isn’t his — it’s theirs. He said Republicans should now go after the Democrats pushing impeachment and remove them from office.
“The Republicans should start to think about expelling them from Congress for all of the crimes that they have committed, especially around Election time(s),” he said.
Thanedar introduced seven articles of impeachment, accusing Trump of overstepping his authority and abusing power in several areas — including the deportation of a Maryland man and cutting government funds without congressional approval.
But even among Democrats, the resolution is losing steam. Reps. Kweisi Mfume (D-Md.), Robin Kelly (D-Ill.), and Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) all backed away from it this week and formally withdrew their support.
Trump mocked the impeachment as just another desperate stunt, recycling old tactics from when Democrats impeached him twice during his presidency — and failed both times.
“These are total LOWLIFES, who hate our Country, and everything it stands for,” he wrote. “Perhaps we should start playing this game on them, and expel Democrats for the many crimes that they have committed — And these are REAL crimes.”
He pointed fingers at past Democratic failures, citing the border crisis, inflation, the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal, and foreign policy disasters as reasons why they should face consequences — not him.
“Maybe it should be for cleaning up the MESS that they left us on the Border, or the Highest Inflation in our Country’s History,” Trump said. “Or… the incompetent Withdrawal from Afghanistan, or Russia, Russia, Russia/Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, or the Attack of Israel on October 7th that only proceeded because they allowed Iran to regain Great Wealth.”
Trump even accused Rep. Adam Schiff and members of the House January 6 committee of needing pardons to escape punishment.
“Remember, ‘Shifty’ Adam Schiff demanded a Pardon, and they had to use the power of the Auto Pen, and a Full Pardon, for him and the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, to save them from Expulsion, and probably worse!”
With Republicans in control of the House, the impeachment resolution has no real path forward. But Trump made it clear: he’s had enough, and he wants the Democrats pushing it out of Congress — permanently.
