In a shocking and highly personal moment on Capitol Hill, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) stood before a House Oversight Committee and displayed a large poster of what she said was her own naked body—secretly filmed without her consent.
“This naked silhouette is my naked body,” Mace said, pointing to a blurred image circled in yellow on the screen behind her. “I didn’t know I had been filmed. I didn’t give my consent.”
The South Carolina Republican claimed the image came from a hidden camera video allegedly taken by her ex-fiancé, Patrick Bryant. She accused him and three other men of secretly recording women, keeping the footage for years, and violating their privacy.
“I will show my naked body on one of the videos predator and rapist Patrick Bryant took of me and many other women,” Mace wrote on X ahead of the hearing.
Bryant and the others she accused have denied the allegations. One of them sued Mace for defamation in March.
Still, Mace doubled down at the hearing. She showed multiple posters—some blurred—of what she said were other women also caught on hidden cameras. She displayed a photo of Bryant, the property where she claimed the camera was hidden, and urged any other victims to come forward.
“I was filmed in secret. The camera sat silent, yet it screamed my safety was negotiable and my dignity disposable,” Mace said during her testimony.
Tuesday’s performance was the latest in a series of very public accusations by Mace. In February, she delivered a fiery speech on the House floor, saying she was “horrified” and “humiliated” after finding a stash of videos—including ones of herself—on Bryant’s phone and in his safe.
She named South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson as someone she says failed to act. Wilson’s office fired back, calling her claims “categorically false” and said they hadn’t even heard of the allegations until Mace aired them publicly.
Mace also slammed South Carolina’s laws on secret recording, calling them “weak” and a “joke.” She said she’s introducing new legislation to toughen them.
“Today I choose daylight,” Mace declared. “I invite every member of this House to step into this light with me.”
The bizarre and emotional display stunned many in the room. Watch the clip below:
