Donald Trump apparently decided that the original photo from his weekend golf outing needed a little work.
The 80-year-old president posted a digitally altered version of a photograph showing him alongside legendary golfer Gary Player at Trump’s Bedminster club in New Jersey on Sunday.
The problem? The original image shows a noticeably older, heavier-looking Trump than the version he chose to share with his millions of followers.
Trump posted the edited-looking image on Truth Social with a simple caption:
“With the great Gary Player, today, at Bedminster!”
Player, 90, appears virtually unchanged between the two versions.
Trump, on the other hand, appears to have received a computer-generated glow-up.
The images quickly began circulating side by side online, with critics mocking the president for seemingly choosing the more flattering version rather than simply posting the original photograph.
“Trump’s AI Image vs. Reality,” the anti-Trump account PatriotTakes wrote.
Liberal commentator Brian Krassenstein was similarly unimpressed, joking that the first image was Trump’s version while the second showed the “actual photograph.”
The apparent touch-up comes as Trump continues to emphasize how energetic and youthful he supposedly is for his age.
His administration has repeatedly defended his physical stamina and public schedule, with White House spokesperson Davis Ingle previously describing Trump as “the sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president in American history.”
Trump’s social media operation has also reportedly become increasingly curated.
Natalie Harp, a longtime Trump aide, is reportedly involved in helping prepare his Truth Social posts and has been described as compiling screenshots of flattering posts from supporters and allies for the president to review.
Harp was photographed returning to the White House with Trump over the weekend.
The White House has not publicly explained why Trump posted the altered-looking image instead of the original photograph.
And the golf photo wasn’t the only thing attracting attention.
Trump was also photographed over the weekend with noticeable markings on his right arm, prompting another round of online speculation about his appearance.
The White House has previously dismissed concerns about marks on Trump’s hands, saying they are the result of his constant interaction with members of the public.
But Trump’s appearance has been under increasing scrutiny lately.
Just last week, photos of his new hairstyle went viral online, generating widespread commentary about yet another change to the president’s appearance.
For a president who spends an enormous amount of time telling Americans how energetic, youthful and physically vigorous he is, the decision to seemingly give a golf photo a digital makeover is bound to raise a few eyebrows.
Apparently, even the original photo wasn’t quite flattering enough for Truth Social.
