Jon Stewart is taking a blowtorch to Donald Trump’s latest round of cognitive test bragging—and he’s using Trump’s own past to do it.
During his Monday monologue, Stewart mocked Trump’s repeated claims that he has “aced” multiple cognitive exams, noting that the former president seems oddly proud of taking a test most people are never asked to take in the first place.
Trump has recently insisted he’s taken the test three separate times, framing it as proof of his mental sharpness.
“I’ve taken three cognitive tests. Aced all of them,” Trump said, even suggesting former President Barack Obama wouldn’t pass.
He doubled down days later, declaring, “No president has ever taken a cognitive test except me.”
For Stewart, that claim raised a different kind of question.
“Why do you think that is?” he asked, suggesting that being repeatedly asked to take cognitive screenings might not mean what Trump thinks it does.
Stewart then took things a step further—by pulling up a clip from a 2006 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, hosted by Howard Stern.
In the clip, Stern asks Trump a basic math question: what is 17 times 6?
After some hesitation from his children, Trump confidently jumps in—only to get it wrong.
“It’s eleven-twelve… one-twelve,” Trump says.
The correct answer is 102.
Stewart didn’t let it slide.
“But somehow we’re supposed to believe that 20 years later you’ve turned into a genius?” he joked, drawing a direct line between Trump’s past stumble and his current claims of mental superiority.
The segment lands as Trump continues to highlight his cognitive test results in public appearances, presenting them as evidence of exceptional mental fitness.
