Kristi Noem, Donald Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary, is facing intense backlash after posting a crude message online to celebrate a court win.

Following news that a lawsuit against her was dropped, Noem took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Suck it,” alongside a screenshot of the legal notice.

The lawsuit, Espinoza Escalona v. Noem, challenged the government’s ability to transfer migrants to Guantánamo Bay. It was voluntarily withdrawn, but the case can still be refiled. That didn’t stop Noem from taking a victory lap. The internet erupted.

“Not AI. This is a real tweet from the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security. This is our life now,” wrote the account Republicans Against Trumpism on Bluesky.

Others took aim at Noem’s personal life. Influencer Alex Cole wrote, “‘Suck it’? Ma’am … That’s allegedly what got you in trouble with Corey Lewandowski in the first place,” referring to her rumored affair with Trump ally Lewandowski.

Legal experts also weighed in. Attorney and former judge pro tem Tracey Gallagher pointed out the lawsuit could come back: “She is clueless what the words mean … without prejudice.”

Critics say Noem’s crude celebration wasn’t just immature—it showed a disturbing lack of respect for the legal process and basic human rights.
