Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, made a notable appearance in New York on Tuesday, marking their return since the “near catastrophic” car incident earlier this year. The couple, who are currently in Manhattan for the Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age, adopted a cautious approach to their safety.

The royal pair employed a seven-car convoy, circling a single block to reach the event. Departing from the Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex turned left onto 33rd Street, following the one-way street protocol, eventually reaching another garage just 200 feet from their starting point. As noted by Daily Mail, this move seemed to be a preventive measure to avoid a repeat of the previous car chase.

The convoy consisted of imposing blacked-out SUVs, and an additional security layer was evident with a marked NYPD escort accompanying the sleek fleet of vehicles.

Following their brief journey, the couple took center stage, hosting a panel discussion at the World Mental Health Day Festival. This event marked their inaugural in-person appearance for their charity, the Archewell Foundation.

The mental health summit featured the couple alongside Today show host Carson and US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy. This joint appearance in New York was their first since the ‘near catastrophic car chase’ incident they experienced back in May, following their attendance at the Women of Vision awards.
