Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo and her panelists appeared noticeably perturbed by the robust U.S. economy during a recent segment. In the wake of a Labor Department report revealing a substantial increase in hiring, Bartiromo’s frustration was palpable.
The report indicated that American employers added 303,000 workers in March, resulting in a drop in the unemployment rate from 3.9% to 3.8%. Despite these positive indicators, Bartiromo seemed determined to cast doubt on the findings.
While most would view these statistics as cause for celebration, especially for the average citizen concerned with the nation’s economic well-being, Bartiromo took a different stance. Rather than acknowledging the achievements, she sought to discredit the report during the segment, much to the surprise of her colleagues and observers.
In particular, Bartiromo’s insinuation that the market and employers might be anticipating a change in leadership in the upcoming election as a reason for the economic success was met with bewilderment. This attempt to attribute the strong economic performance under President Biden to the policies of former President Trump was met with incredulity from many quarters.
Journalist Aaron Rupar captured Bartiromo’s commentary and shared it on social media, highlighting the absurdity of attempting to credit Trump for the current economic prosperity under Biden’s administration.

"Ah!" — Maria and her panelists love it it when a talking head denigrates the strong jobs report by linking it to growth in government jobs. They've found a useful talking point! pic.twitter.com/oV6ZWLpMau
