Trump, 79, Pins Jan 6 Insurrection on Biden in Bizarre Midnight Meltdown, Demands Apology

In yet another late-night rant that raises serious questions about his grip on reality—or at least on the calendar—Donald Trump, 79, took to Truth Social just after midnight Sunday to blast out a wild claim that the “Biden FBI” was responsible for infiltrating the crowd on January 6, 2021.

There’s one glaring problem: Joe Biden wasn’t president on January 6. Trump was.

“THE BIDEN FBI PLACED 274 AGENTS INTO THE CROWD ON JANUARY 6,” Trump wrote, apparently forgetting that the FBI was under his direct control at the time of the Capitol insurrection. At that point, Biden hadn’t even been sworn in. Trump was still president, still refusing to concede a legitimate election, and still in charge of every federal law enforcement agency—including the FBI.

“If this is so, which it is, a lot of very good people will be owed big apologies,” he continued. “What a SCAM – DO SOMETHING!!! President DJT.”

The post is not just riddled with conspiratorial thinking—it’s untethered from basic historical facts. The idea that Biden somehow controlled the FBI before his inauguration defies the most elementary understanding of how presidential transitions and the federal government work.

The broader implication of Trump’s message—beyond the tangle of falsehoods—is that he is willing to pin blame for January 6 on literally anyone but himself. Whether it’s antifa, the “deep state,” or now the “Biden FBI,” Trump has repeatedly dodged responsibility for a violent day that occurred on his watch, encouraged by his rhetoric, and aimed at keeping him in power.

But this time, it’s not just deflection. It’s a rewrite of the timeline so bold, it almost seems like he’s lost track of when he was president. If 274 FBI agents were indeed in the crowd that day (a claim with no credible evidence), it would have been on Trump’s watch. His administration. His intelligence community. His responsibility.

The midnight post is just the latest in Trump’s growing list of online outbursts that ignore facts in favor of sensationalism. But this one goes beyond the usual late-night rants and misspellings—it’s a moment of real confusion from a man who holds the nuclear codes.
