Ana Navarro isn’t letting Melania Trump off the hook. While vacationing in Greece, The View co-host paused her seaside break to blast Melania Trump over what she called “performative hypocrisy” in a letter the First Lady wrote to Vladimir Putin.
“I just can’t with the performative hypocrisy from these people,” Navarro posted alongside a video on Instagram.
Melania’s letter, hand-delivered by Donald Trump to Putin during a recent meeting, asked the Russian president to think of the children suffering in Ukraine. “Every child shares the same quiet dreams in their heart,” she wrote. “They dream of love, possibility, and safety from danger.”
That was too much for Navarro to stomach.
“This falls under the category of stuff that’s so hypocritical you almost can’t believe it,” she said in her video. “Think about what her husband, what Donald Trump, is doing to the children of immigrants in America—and to U.S. children of immigrants in America. How many of those children are living with the fear or their parents being dragged through the streets of America? Their car windows smashed in? Their parents beaten by masked men and disappeared?”
While Trump praised Melania’s letter, calling her “someone who has a great love of children,” Navarro wasn’t buying it.
She responded sharply: “Start a little closer to home, girl.”
Navarro gave Melania a slow clap—but not in a good way.
“Melania Trump is telling Putin to preserve the innocence and purity of Ukrainian children. Yay for her. That’s a good thing,” she said. “But you know, maybe she should turn around and say the exact same thing to her husband—because there are children in America crying, suffering, going to bed in fear, returning to homes that are abandoned and empty, not knowing where their next meal is coming from because of what her husband is doing.”
This isn’t the first time Navarro has gone after Melania. During the 2020 campaign, she posted a nude photo of the First Lady in response to Trump’s attacks on Kamala Harris.
“You wanna go low?… I’ll happily go 20,000 leagues under the sea,” she wrote on Instagram. “This country deserves a debate on real issues, affecting us all. But you want to make this an issue? Bring it on. I’ve never seen naked pics of @kamalaharris or her spouse.”
When fellow View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin criticized her for posting the photo, Navarro didn’t flinch: “You defeat hypocrisy and you call it out when you see it. I am going to call it out every time that I see it.”
