AOC Lampoons Kevin McCarthy With Blunt Reminder Of His ‘Deal’ With Biden On Gov. Funding

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) reportedly seeks a meeting with President Joe Biden in an apparent effort to revisit their budget agreement from several months ago. This move is driven by McCarthy’s urgent attempt to satisfy the demands of hard-line House Republicans, who are calling for substantial spending reductions, and to prevent a potential government shutdown by October 1.

However, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) firmly rejected McCarthy’s new request. On Tuesday, the congresswoman from New York took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to remind McCarthy that he had already met with Biden when they originally negotiated the deal earlier this year.

“Deal is done,” she asserted. “Biden held his end. Nothing to relitigate.”

Ocasio-Cortez then added a dismissive remark, suggesting that McCarthy “go pound sand.”

Later that same Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez playfully teased McCarthy by referring to the “boy math” meme, which had circulated on social media during the summer, following the “girl math” meme trend.

“Boy math is needing 15 attempts to count the votes correctly to become Speaker and then shutting down the government 9 months later,” She wrote.

The meme was a mockery of McCarthy’s lengthy 15-ballot election process and the potential serious consequences it could entail.
