Police are searching for an “active shooter” in Georgia’s Henry County after four people were killed in a mass shooting in Georgia‘s Henry County. The incident occurred in the town of Hampton, located approximately an hour south of Atlanta. The suspect is described as a man in his 50s.
Henry County authorities shared a Facebook post alerting the public about an “active shooter” situation that unfolded in the Dogwood Lakes area of Hampton around 10:45 a.m. The investigation is ongoing, as confirmed by Melissa Robinson, a spokesperson for the County government. She stated that four people have been confirmed dead, and the suspect’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Authorities have provided a description of the shooter as a man in his mid-50s, approximately five feet and ten inches tall. He was reportedly wearing a dark shirt with a reddish tone. The suspect was last spotted driving a black 2017 GMC Arcadia with the license plate DHF756.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Henry County Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County Homeland Security, and the Henry County Crime Scene Unit, are collaborating with the Hampton police to address the situation.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has also been informed about the incident.
