A Chaotic scene unBen Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s, was hauled out of a Capitol Hill hearing Wednesday after launching into a fiery protest during testimony from Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Kennedy, who served as Health and Human Services Secretary under President Trump, was in the middle of answering questions about his department’s budget when chaos broke out. A woman in the crowd suddenly stood up and screamed, “RFK kills people with AIDS,” over and over, waving a sign toward the witness table.
Security rushed in. One guard wrestled the sign away and physically carried the woman out. Moments later, two more protesters followed — one shouting, another quietly escorted.
Then came Ben Cohen: “Congress pays for bombs that kills kids in Gaza!” he shouted from his seat.
As guards closed in, Cohen accused lawmakers of slashing Medicaid to help fund Israel’s military. While being dragged away, he yelled, “Congress kills!”
Cohen’s team later released a defiant statement.
“We are expected to be good Americans and look the other way as Israel prevents food, water, and medicine from reaching the remaining people of Gaza. Israel is literally starving them to death… We will not look away. We will not be silenced. We will do everything we can to get our government to stop being complicit in starving little kids to death.”
