During an interview with The Washington Post, Donald Trump attacked GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, claiming that the Wyoming Republican is “worse than any Democrat” serving on the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
The former president also told the newspaper that unnamed congressmen have informed him that Cheney is a “crazed lunatic.”
“From what people tell me, from what I hear from other congressmen, she’s like a crazed lunatic, she’s worse than anyone else,” Trump said Tuesday. “From what I’ve heard, she’s worse than any Democrat.”
Trump revealed to The Post that he perceives Cheney as a bigger threat to him than Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who was the lead impeachment manager during Trump’s first impeachment trial.

The former president has repeatedly attacked Cheney for refusing to support his unproven claims that the election was stolen.
Trump’s comments come days after the House Select Committee issued subpoenas to five sitting Republican members of the House, including Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.). None of the five members have said if they will comply with the probe.
