Mike Purpura, one of Donald Trump’s attorneys for his impeachment trial, appeared before the Senate on Saturday where he claimed that Ukraine was unaware that Trump was withholding aid until after the government helped him by announcing an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden.
But MSNBC host Brian Williams quickly shut those claims down by sharing a clip of Defense Department official Laura Cooper, who testified that Ukrainians were asking about the delay on July 25th, the day of the Trump phone call that was the starting point of the impeachment trial.
