Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg reportedly had a dying wish, that her replacement not be made until there’s a new president in office. But Republicans refuse to accept it.
“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,” Ginsburg dictated in a statement released by her granddaughter, Clara Spera.
On Tuesday, the Senate voted to pass a resolution honoring Ginsburg, but Republican Senator Ted Cruz decided to block it.
Politico’s Burgess Everett reported it on Tuesday:
Cruz says he wants to modify the resolution and delete Schumer's language about when RBG wants seat filled. Cruz wants to insert RBG quote knocking the idea of packing the court.
