In a memorable retort, Crockett challenged Chairman James Comer about the boundaries of personal attacks after Greene made comments saying: “If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blonde, bad-built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” Greene later defended herself, emphasizing her physical fitness. “Yes my body is built and strong NOT with nips, tucks, plastic, or silicone, but through a healthy lifestyle,” Greene said. Crockett told The Independent that the situation nearly escalated further, with Pressley preparing to intervene physically. “When AOC jumped in so quickly, what people didn't see off camera was that Ayanna Pressley was ready to jump in and stood up and... it was gonna get into a fight,” She also acknowledged the support of Jamie Raskin, who rebuked Greene for her remarks during the committee session.
