Anthony Scaramucci, former White House communications director, didn’t mince words when he labeled Sens. JD Vance (R-Ohio) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) as “spineless sycophants” for their recent appearance at the Manhattan courthouse in support of former President Trump during his hush money trial.
In a scathing rebuke, Scaramucci slammed Trump for what he sees as the destruction of the Republican Party, leaving only a few individuals with any semblance of backbone. He described Vance and Tuberville as mere lackeys, eagerly dancing to Trump’s tune.
“So, there’s … very few people with any backbone left in that party,” he said during a CNN interview. “And those people standing out there, they’re just spineless sycophants.”
The senators’ presence at the courthouse, where Trump faces charges related to hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, drew further ire from Scaramucci. He blasted their comments aimed at discrediting Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney and a key witness in the trial, as desperate attempts to protect their tarnished leader.
Vance’s dismissal of Cohen’s testimony as that of a convicted felon and Tuberville’s depiction of the trial as “depressing” were met with disdain from Scaramucci, who saw through their thinly veiled attempts at loyalty to Trump.
Scaramucci didn’t hesitate to expose the senators’ true motives, alleging that they were merely following Trump’s orders, regardless of the damage it inflicted on the integrity of the party or the truth. He highlighted their reliance on skewed metrics like poll numbers and Twitter echo chambers to justify their unwavering support for Trump, painting a picture of blind allegiance.
