Donald Trump’s rally in Tucson, Arizona, last week has now been shrouded in mystery after multiple attendees reported unusual and painful eye symptoms following the event.
Several individuals seated directly behind Trump during the September 12 rally told News 4 they sought medical attention due to severe eye irritation. Among them was pro-life activist Mayra Rodriguez, who described her discomfort the next morning, stating she could barely open her eyes without pain. “I see a bright light. It hurts, it hurts a lot to open my eyes,” she lamented, using a cold cloth to alleviate her suffering.
Initially believing her symptoms were allergies, Rodriguez soon realized the severity of her condition. After a 90-minute drive home to Phoenix, she opted for a visit to the emergency room, where medical staff speculated she might have been exposed to a chemical irritant, as her symptoms resembled those of someone “sprayed with something.” Fortunately, her vision began to improve a few days later.
Two siblings seated nearby also reported similar issues. The brother described his eyes as “red like hell” and unbearable, while his sister experienced watering eyes and a burning sensation in her neck.
Another anonymous attendee, a realtor, had to cancel her weekend commitments due to her impaired vision.
The rally, Trump’s first after a recent debate with Kamala Harris, has prompted Rodriguez to reach out to the Trump campaign about her symptoms. The campaign responded by stating they are looking into the matter.
While the Secret Service has confirmed there were no identified threats at the rally, they are not investigating the reports as there were no safety concerns regarding Trump’s security.
