Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is facing ridicule for her absurdly positive spin on Donald Trump’s arraignment. During an interview on Newsmax, The far-right lawmaker expressed her excitement over the former president’s legal troubles, saying it would guarantee his return as the 47th president of the United States. Boebert asserted that the American people were fed up with the Democrats’ tactics and that they would support Trump’s reinstatement.

“I’m actually really excited over this arraignment because it only ensures that President Trump will be the 47th president of the United States,” she told Newsmax host Rob Schmitt. “Because the American people are sick of this. They are sick of the Democrats’ dirty tricks.”

In reality, Trump pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiring to defraud voters by spreading false information that fueled the January 6, 2021, insurrection—a desperate attempt to cling to power after losing the 2020 election.

Boebert, known for her unwavering loyalty to Trump, dismissed the court proceedings as a sham and claimed that it amounted to election interference. She criticized the Department of Justice, asserting that it had become the “Department of Injustice” under Joe Biden, implying that the arraignment was politically motivated to support Biden’s future campaign.

“This is election interference at its finest,” she said. “The DOJ is no longer the Department of Justice. It’s the department of injustice and with this arraignment, Joe Biden, his DOJ, has officially become his new campaign headquarters, and Jack Smith is his new campaign manager.”

Similarly, fellow MAGA zealot Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia also spun a remarkably positive perspective on Trump’s third felony indictment. She labeled the charges a “political assassination” attempt and confidently predicted that the American people would reelect President Trump.
