Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) is under fire after saying that he does not regret voting against allowing Bolton to testify in the Senate impeachment trial because Alexander already believed Trump was abusing his office this way — he just didn’t care.
On Wednesday, Alexander was asked about the new allegations from former National Security Adviser John Bolton that President Donald Trump interfered in multiple international criminal investigations for personal gain and tried to get the Chinese president to help him win the election. His answer has sparked the ire of the internet.
“Did I need any more evidence to be convinced that President Trump did what he was accused of doing? I said he did it. I was convinced,” Alexander Washington Post reporter Seung Min Kim.

After Bolton book revelation, @SenAlexander—key R vote—tells me he’s not rethinking his choice to block witnesses: “Did I need any more evidence to be convinced that President Trump did what he was accused of doing? I said he did it. I was convinced.” https://t.co/xEOmPlVXUc

Too bad Sen Alexander didn't think of others whose vote might have changed. He knew he was covering up crimes and didn't care. You can still do the right thing, and go out with a few ethics.

So he sleeps well knowing he was a willing enabler and defender of a corrupt leader. Good to know.

"I just refused to do anything about what I knew to be true, and let America suffer for it. No skin off my nose; I'm in power."

Vote every republican out.

So @SenAlexander just doesn’t care—and didn’t then either—that the president did all these evil things? Just fracking doesn’t care? He knew it then and he knows it now and he doesn’t care?

Lamar: I was convinced he did it.
Also Lamar: So I voted against hearing from a key witness to it all who could have further verified the facts in evidence and perhaps persuaded my colleagues too.
Way to play yourself there, baka.
