On Thursday, Jimmy Kimmel jokingly proposed the idea of far-right extremist Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) becoming the new House Speaker in the aftermath of the removal of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
The late-night comedian pointed out that Reps. Jim Jordan (Ohio) and Steve Scalise (La.) were the front-runners to succeed McCarthy, and expressed his disapproval of both.
“I don’t like either one of those guys,” remarked Kimmel.
He then recommended Boebert for the role.
“I mean, we saw at that ‘Beetlejuice’ musical, she does know how to reach across the aisle,” Kimmel humorously remarked, referring to Boebert’s ejection from a Denver theater due to disruptive behavior with her date.
