On Saturday, the hosts of Fox & Friends unveiled a new conspiracy theory suggesting that the World Health Organization, South Africa, the Democratic Party, and the Biden administration are all part of a massive conspiracy to keep Democrats in power by routinely introducing new variants of the coronavirus.
During a segment on the spread of the Omicron Covid variant, the hosts appeared to suggest that Democrats had created the new variant to prolong the supply chain crisis, and to introduce “more lockdowns, and more fear” that allowed President Biden not to do his job.
“They can’t fix the supply chain problem until the pandemic is over, until Covid is over,” co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy told viewers. “And now we see these new variants,” she added. “So that’s the answer: more lockdowns, more lockdowns, more fear and therefore he doesn’t have to do his job of fixing the supply chain because we’ll keep this whole thing going”.

Co-host Pete Hegseth agreed, saying, “You can count on a variant about every October, every two years,” and appeared to mimic a phone call in which Mr Biden says “we’re gonna need a new variant here”.
“You’re probably right,” co-hist Will Cain replied. “However, they could speed up. The variants could come more quickly.”
The Fox & Friends segment came a day after the Biden administration said it was banning travel from South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia or Zimbabwe, in a bid to curb the spread of the omicron variant.
This theme of Democrats inventing politically-timed Covid variants was echoed on @foxandfriends Saturday
