Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have been drawing large crowds on their “Fight Oligarchy” tour, and it’s clear that their success is rubbing some people the wrong way, including Elon Musk.

Musk, a billionaire who is still bribing people to vote for Republican candidates, is now spreading unproven claims about paid protesters attending Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez’s rallies.

The “Fight Oligarchy” tour, which kicked off last month, has been attracting massive crowds across the country. In Denver, for example, Sanders’ communications director reported that 30,000 people showed up last Friday alone.

The size of these crowds seems to be bothering Musk and his followers.

A post from right-wing media figure Mario Nawfal claimed that despite reports of 34,000 attendees, GPS data supposedly showed the real number was closer to 20,000—still a large crowd, but not record-breaking. Nawfal also claimed that 84% of the people attending had shown up at other protests before, such as those supporting Antifa, BLM, pro-Hamas, pro-Palestinian causes, and Kamala Harris.

“The Dems just move around the same group of paid ‘protesters,’” Musk said, sharing Nawfal’s post.

However, Nawfal offered no proof for the private GPS data he claimed to have. Even if we were to take his word for it (which is a stretch), it doesn’t change the fact that these rallies are attracting politically active and progressive people. It’s not unusual for the same people to show up at multiple events, much like how Trump supporters travel from rally to rally.

Musk, who has offered millions in cash for votes and signatures, has no ground to accuse others of paying protesters, especially without any real evidence.
