NIH chief Dr. Anthony Fauci held his first coronavirus press briefing on Thursday under the Biden administration.
During the briefing, Fauci was asked about the government partnering with Amazon and if that would have helped distribute the vaccine quicker during the Trump administration.
That’s when Fauci took a jab at the former administration and said things were done differently.
“No, I don’t think I could answer that question. I’d be waving my hands about that. Sorry. But you know, one of the new things in this administration is if you don’t know the answer, don’t guess,” Fauci told the press, chuckling. “Just say you don’t know the answer.”
NBC News’ Peter Alexander later asked him about President Donald Trump’s administration and the former president standing behind him. Fauci said he actually wasn’t joking about that and having to guess when he didn’t know the answer.
