Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called out Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler this week after the Republican lawmaker attacked her for wanting to give Americans another stimulus package.
“To get the virus under control, we need to pay people to stay home,” AOC tweeted this Thursday.
Loeffler took a shot at AOC’s tweet, saying that she’d do everything to stop the proposal.
“AOC wants to lock down our economy, lock the American people in their homes, and put the government in charge of every single part of our lives,” Loeffler tweeted, adding, “It’s not going to happen on my watch.”

AOC did not stay silent. She called out Loeffler for using taxpayer dollars to live out her lavish lifestyle while millions of Americans are in need of financial help.
“@KLoeffler disclosures show you seem to have gifted yourself private jet on public dime & exploited corrupt tax loopholes to do it,” AOC tweeted in response to Loeffler. “If you’re happy helping yourself to public funds, maybe take a seat before arguing against stimulus checks to help everyday people in a pandemic.”
In a subsequent tweet, AOC shared an article detailing allegations against Loeffler that she used a “loophole in President Trump’s 2017 tax bill that turns private jets into flying tax shelters.”
