Marjorie Taylor Greene has split from President Donald Trump on another key issue, and the tension is starting to spill into the open.

The Georgia congresswoman reacted sharply to a lengthy X post the president shared early Friday morning, just a day after two National Guard members were shot in Washington D.C. by an Afghan national, in which 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom lost her life.

Trump called to “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries,” “terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions,” and “remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States.” He added, “Even as we have progressed technologically, Immigration Policy has eroded those gains and living conditions for many. Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation.”

Greene, who has grown increasingly critical of Trump despite her MAGA roots, fired back with a cryptic warning:

“One of the worst mistakes you can ever make is over promise and under deliver. It will leave people furious to the point they won’t even appreciate the good things they received. Big promises have and still are being made…”

Greene has already made headlines by announcing her resignation from Congress on November 21. Her break with Trump has been very public: the president called her a “traitor” and withdrew his endorsement, and Greene has said she began receiving threats against her life following his rhetoric.

In her resignation video, she explained her reasoning:

“I have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms. I will be resigning from office with my last day being January 5, 2026.”

Her departure may not be an isolated case. A senior House Republican told Punchbowl News that other GOP lawmakers frustrated with Speaker Mike Johnson and the White House could also retire mid-term, putting the party’s hold on the House at risk.

“The arrogance of this White House team is off-putting to members who are run roughshod and threatened. Not even the high profile, the regular rank and file random members are more upset than ever. Members know they are going into the minority after the midterms.”

With Greene’s warning now reverberating across Washington, Trump faces growing scrutiny from his own party. Loyalty among his base remains strong, but cracks are appearing—and Greene’s public shade may be just the beginning.
