Jimmy Kimmel pulled off a masterclass in trolling this week, turning the tables on President Donald Trump’s narrative about chaos in Democrat-led cities. After Trump sent federal troops to places like Portland, Kimmel challenged his viewers living there to send in videos from their so-called “hellholes.” The result? A hilarious, brutally honest roast of Trump’s fearmongering.

On Thursday, Kimmel aired the best clips, and they didn’t disappoint. One man from “war-ravaged Portland” described the “carnage on the streets”—except, he quickly revealed it was because “people are fleeing… because they can’t get reservations at the restaurants.”

In another clip, a dog wore sunglasses to cope with the “scary” situation, perfectly capturing the absurdity of the hype.

Then there was the guy who claimed to be “behind enemy lines” and forced to eat an “all new breakfast” instead of an old-fashioned one, poking fun at the supposed nightmare that’s actually just everyday life.

Meanwhile, “The Daily Show” wasn’t letting up either. Correspondent Josh Johnson hilariously tore into Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s recent visit to Portland, especially her run-in with a protester dressed in a chicken suit.

Johnson mocked the sight of Noem scanning the rooftop of the city’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility before spotting the “foul-themed” demonstrator below. “OK, OK, that doesn’t look that scary, but you have to remember how scary it is for her to encounter a farm animal when she’s unarmed,” he quipped—an especially pointed jab given Noem’s own tales of farmyard killings in her 2024 book.

Johnson also skewered Trump’s justification for sending troops by targeting “antifa,” which the administration calls a “domestic terrorist organization.” Johnson laid it out clearly: “While there are people who identify as antifa, it isn’t really an official group. They don’t even have a website. Like my cousin’s baby has its own website…”

He went on to highlight Noem’s alarming comparison of antifa to notorious terror groups like MS-13, ISIS, Hezbollah, and Hamas. “Wait, what? And they’re here?” Johnson said, adding, “She made antifa feel like the Power Rangers of terrorism!”

Between Kimmel’s fans sending back these cheeky “war zone” clips and “The Daily Show” clowning on Noem’s chicken suit freakout, the whole narrative of cities on the brink is looking more and more like a political joke.
