President Donald Trump slammed Senate Democrats over the weekend, accusing them of blocking his nominees and calling on Republicans to fight harder to get them confirmed.

In a fiery Truth Social post on Saturday, Trump praised GOP senators for staying in Washington to push through his picks.

“Very proud of our great Republican Senators for fighting, over the Weekend and far beyond, if necessary, in order to get my great Appointments approved, and on their way to helping us MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” he wrote.

Trump didn’t hold back on Democrats, blaming them for intentionally dragging out the process.

“If George Washington or Abraham Lincoln were up for approval, the Dems would delay, as long as possible, then vote them out,” Trump said. “The Democrats want our Country to fail, because they have failed.”

He thanked Senate GOP Leader John Thune and called Republicans “Warriors” for standing their ground. “Fight and WIN. I am with you all the way!!!” Trump said.

Thune, speaking to reporters Thursday, said Republicans are weighing all options—including recess appointments—to break the logjam of more than 160 pending nominees, most for lower-level positions.

“I think everything is on the table,” Thune said. “Fixing the rules, not just for now, but for the long term, would be a better solution.”

While Republicans are trying to work out a deal with Democrats, Thune made it clear they’re ready to move forward on their own if needed.

“If we can’t then we will have to resort to other options and we’ve got a lot of support for doing that,” Thune told Politico on Saturday.

Democrats, led by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, are pushing back hard, calling Trump’s nominees the problem—not the process.

“We have never seen nominees as flawed, as compromised, as unqualified as Trump’s,” Schumer posted on X. “And they know that.”

According to Politico, Schumer’s office sent a counterproposal Friday, seeking over $1 billion in funding to be released in exchange for confirming a limited number of Trump’s nominees.

Trump exploded at the idea, calling it a shakedown.

“This demand is egregious and unprecedented, and would be embarrassing to the Republican Party if it were accepted. It is political extortion, by any other name,” he wrote in a second Truth Social post.

And he had a blunt message for Schumer.

“Tell Schumer, who is under tremendous political pressure from within his own party, the Radical Left Lunatics, to GO TO HELL! Do not accept the offer, go home and explain to your constituents what bad people the Democrats are, and what a great job the Republicans are doing, and have done, for our Country,” Trump wrote.

“Have a great RECESS and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
