Key voices in the MAGA sphere are calling foul on a new claim from President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice — that Jeffrey Epstein had no client list and no powerful co-conspirators.
In a memo released Sunday night, the DOJ and FBI stated: “This systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list.’” They added there was “no credible evidence” Epstein blackmailed anyone or that any uncharged third parties could be investigated. “There will be no further disclosure,” the agencies said.
That statement lit a firestorm on social media.
MAGA influencers say they were promised more — and now feel misled.
“Where is the Epstein info the American people were promised?” asked conservative commentator Chad Prather. “You handed us a notebook and promised more was on the way. You told us it existed and now you say it doesn’t? America deserves answers.”
Back in February, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi — a key Trump ally — went on Fox News and claimed the Epstein client list was “sitting on her desk.” Around the same time, she met with conservative influencers at the White House and handed them a binder she said was full of Epstein revelations. It mostly contained previously known material.
“We were all told more was coming,” said Jack Posobiec. “That answers were out there and would be provided. Incredible how utterly mismanaged this Epstein mess has been.”
Other MAGA figures echoed the outrage. They’re not buying the DOJ’s claim — and they’re not letting it go. Many believe the government is either hiding something or hoping people stop asking questions.
“No one believes this!” one user wrote bluntly.
Even Fox News is pressing for answers.
During Monday’s White House press briefing, Fox’s Peter Doocy grilled Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt about Bondi’s February comments. In that interview, Bondi was asked whether the DOJ would release the Epstein client list. She replied, “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.”
Now, the DOJ memo says no such list exists — and no additional perpetrators were identified.
Leavitt defended the administration, saying: “The Trump administration is committed to truth. And to transparency. That’s why the attorney general and the FBI director pledged, at the president’s direction, to do an exhaustive review of all of the files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and his death… There was material they did not release because, frankly, it was incredibly graphic, and it contained child pornography — which is not something that’s appropriate for public consumption.”
But Doocy pressed further, quoting Bondi directly: “John Roberts said, ‘DOJ may be releasing a list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients, will that really happen?’ And she said, ‘It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.’”
Leavitt responded: “She was saying the entirety of all of the paperwork… in relation to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. That’s what the attorney general was referring to. And I’ll let her speak for that.”
