In a scathing interrogation on Capitol Hill, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) launched a blistering attack on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle during a hearing on Monday. Mace ripped into Cheatle over the agency’s failure to thwart an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

“You’re full of shit today,” Mace spat at Cheatle after trying to buttonhole her on a series of yes-or-no questions.

The South Carolina congresswoman didn’t hold back, offering Cheatle a cutting ultimatum: “Would you like to use my five minutes to draft your resignation letter? Yes, or no?”

“Was this a colossal failure?” Mace asked of the assassination attempt, which occurred during a rally Trump held in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, in a particularly pointed question.

“It was a failure,” Cheatle replied.

“Yes or no, was it a colossal failure is the question,” Mace yelled back.

“I have admitted this is a terrible—” Cheatle said in an attempt to respond before Mace abruptly cut her off. Eventually, she simply said “yes.”

But Mace wasn’t finished. She lambasted Cheatle for her leaked opening statement.

“I have no idea how my statement got out,” the agency chief claimed.

“Well, that’s bullshit,” Mace replied.

As the exchange escalated, members of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee intervened to restore order, emphasizing the need to maintain decorum even amid the explosive scrutiny.
