Ukrainian armed forces said have destroyed a large Russian landing ship named the “Orsk” and damaged two more at the port of Berdyansk in southern Ukraine, CNN reported Thursday.
besides destroying the Orsk, a 3,000-ton fuel tank was also destroyed. The fire spread to the enemy’s ammunition depot, the report states.
The network cited Russian officials saying that the “Orsk” was “the first warship of the Russian Federation to enter the port of Berdyansk. It delivered equipment — armored personnel carriers.”
The news comes as Ukraine forces make significant gains as they try to prevent Russia from taking full control of their cities.
