Multiple Students Shot At Iowa High School, 3 In Critical Condition: Report

Several students have been rushed to area hospitals after a shooting at East High School in Des Moines, Iowa, local authorities said.

Three students are in critical condition, CNN reported, citing fire department spokesperson Ahman Douglass.

The school released a statement on Twitter announcing that the school was locked down.

“There are reports of a shooting near East High School. Police are actively investigating. The district is working with staff and families. We will have more information as it becomes available. East High School is currently locked down. Please do not go to the school. More information will be available soon,” the school district tweeted.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) of Kansas City is on scene providing assistance in the investigation, CNN reported.
