Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who has failed to take any responsibility for the state of Texas losing power after an unprecedented winter storm, was widely condemned after he decided to book a trip to Cancun while his constituents suffered.
Instead of taking responsibility, he decided to blame the trip on his daughters, saying they wanted to go on vacation.
“Like millions of Texans our family lost heat and power too,” Cruz said Thursday afternoon in a statement.
“With school cancelled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends,” the senator added. “Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”
