During an interview with Boise station KTVB-TV, Idaho Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin on Wednesday struggled to explain her appearance at a far-right conference organized by infamous white nationalist Nicholas Fuentes and resorted to attacking the media for highlighting conservatives’ association with extremist groups.
Reporter Brian Holmes began the interview by asking McGeachin: “Are you familiar with who puts this event on? Like, Nick Fuentes?”
“I don’t,” McGeachin responded. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t. “I never met him,” she said despite making a virtual appearance at Fuentes’ AFPAC gathering.
McGeachin then accused Holmes of “always doing this to conservatives” and to try to make them look “guilty by association.”
The back and forth carried on with Holmes firing back follow-up questions until McGeachin couldn’t handle it anymore called it quits.
“Interview’s over,” she declared before taking off her mic and walking off.
