A new report revealed on Monday that a 42-year-old Michigan man has been arrested after assaulting a black teen over a dispute regarding the young man’s “loud music.”
According to Fox 6, Lee James Mouat Jr. was charged on Sunday with “assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felonious assault and ethnic intimidation.”
The report states that police are calling the attack racially motivated.
According to the report, the victim, 18-year-old Devin Freelon Jr., had three teeth knocked out and suffered a cut on his lip.
Mouat’s bond has been set at $100,000 and he is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
The victim’s family has started a GoFundMe page to raise money for hospital bills.
