Watch: Most Stunning Moments During Alex Murdaugh Cross-Examination

Alex Murdaugh

On Friday, prosecutors grilled disgraced attorney Alex Murdaugh during his second day of cross-examination in the trial for the brutal murder of his wife Maggie and his 22-year-old son Paul at the family’s estate in Islandton, South Carolina.

Murdaugh, who pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and two weapons charges in the June 2021 killings, faced ten hours over two days of blistering questions from prosecutors and skepticism over his explanation of the events that transpired the day of the murders.

During questioning, lead prosecutor Creighton Waters used texts and videos to make the case that there was no way the accused Murduagh did not hear the shots that took the lives of the two victims, which led the lawyer to push back during the often contentious questioning.

A video compiled by Law & Crime Network highlights the most pivotal moments of the cross-examination (See it below).

In the footage, Waters challenges Murdaugh, telling him: “You had to sit in this courtroom and hear your family and your friends, one after the other, come in and testify that you were on that kennel video, so you — like you’ve done so many times over the course of your life — had to back up and make a new story that kind of fit with the facts that can’t be denied. Isn’t that true, sir?”

“No, sir, that’s not true,” Murdaugh fired back.

Murdaugh’s attorney, Dick Harpootlian, noted he will call four more witnesses in the trial that is set to conclude on Wednesday.
