It was reported on Wednesday that the U.S. government has only carried out 10 percent of the COVID-19 vaccinations that were planned by this point. Donald Trump took to Twitter shortly after to blame the states for the lack of distribution of the vaccines.
“The Federal Government has distributed the vaccines to the states. Now it is up to the states to administer. Get moving!” he tweeted.
This did not satisfy Olivia Troye, a former national security and COVID-19 adviser to Vice President Mike Pence — who slammed the president’s “incompetence” and “vindictiveness” in a tweet of her own.
Once again-let’s shift the blame to the States on the #CovidVaccine distribution. Just like you did with testing & PPE. BILLIONS of $$ were spent on #OperationWarpSpeed-what’s the point if Americans are still suffering? It’s your incompetence & vindictiveness-@realDonaldTrump https://t.co/TGlWcorIFp

Two million people have so far received either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine against COVID-19, a tiny fraction of the amount required to establish herd immunity to the virus.
